In the Image and Likeness: Right Relationships through a Catholic lens
How do Catholic schools form young people to understand themselves and others as created and loved by God? How do we respond faithfully, pastorally and practically to the complex realities shaping identity, relationships, dignity, safety and belonging in the lives of students today?
The 2026 ASREAP Conference invites Religious Education Coordinators, Assistant Principals Religious Education, Directors of Mission, Identity and Formation leaders, and others entrusted with the faith life of Catholic schools, to explore right relationships through the lens of Catholic tradition, contemporary theology, human dignity and practical educational leadership.
Across two days, participants will engage with keynote presentations, workshop sessions, prayer, liturgy and professional conversation that attend to some of the most significant questions facing Catholic schools. Sessions will explore the Catholic understanding of the human person, identity and gender, consent and respectful relationships education, safeguarding, domestic and family violence awareness, digital culture, student formation, synodality and the connection between schools and the wider Church.
The conference will offer both personal formation and practical support for those leading Religious Education, Mission and Catholic identity in schools. Through challenging presentations, interactive workshops and the sharing of wisdom across the ASREAP community, participants will consider how Catholic schools can form communities where young people are supported to recognise their dignity, build healthy relationships, act with compassion, and participate in the mission of the Church with courage and hope.
